I just finished reading a letter from Craig Perrine, The
List Profit Coach, about his bumpy journey to success.
I didn’t know his background before, but he’s done some
crazy stuff!
You may not have heard of Craig before, he’s known as The
List Profit Coach from his work helping hundreds of people
build profitable lists.
He came out of nowhere a couple years ago when he partnered
with Nitro Marketing, but reading his story, it’s clear he’s
been an entrepreneur for literally 20 years since he was in
high school.
I’m telling you about this because Nitro Marketing is now
looking for someone to offer a million dollar project
they’ve got under wraps.
I thought you’d like to know about this before everyone
else does.

1. Welcome From The Publisher

Hi {FIRSTNAME Friend},
While visiting one of my favorite forums, there was a
discussion I was reading about starting a local directory
for the town you live in. A sort of local yellow pages.
Were they worth putting together?
Coincidently, in an email from Dave Vallieres (his
newsletter), he pointed me to a resource regarding setting
up local directories. He highly recommends doing them.
In as much as I have a great deal of respect for Dave -
let’s face it, he is very successful at what he does - I
felt the need to “chew” on this one for a bit.
A week or two later, my wife and I were lamenting on the
rapid growth of our little town. It’s not as little as it
used to be. Statistics show that it has more than doubled
in the past 10 years. And driving around, there are no less
than THREE new developments going in - as well as a new
Target store.
With that in mind I went back to the local directory idea.
I did some digging on Google and found that there was only
one or two local directories listed that included our town,
and one that is dedicated to our town, but poorly built and
laid out.
Further in my research, a directory site was pointed out to
me that was put up by a retired gentleman down in Tennesee
somewhere. It is basically a one-long-page list of
businesses grouped in categories. The site to ME is an
eyesore. But get this . . . he has like 235 listings each
one sending him $15.00 per month!
That’s over $3,000.00 per month!
I think that’s what sold me. Now, I don’t design sites very
well - but I knew I could do better than what I was seeing.
So I came up with this:

I basically finished it over the weekend, using Duncan
Carver’s Link Management Assistant (which is free). Now I
just need to get the word out locally.
I will be attacking that this in the very near future. I
plan to do three things:
# Put an ad in our local newspapers.
# Make up some flyers. Purchase a mailing list of our
local merchants.
# Do a mailing to our local merchants.
While researching the different mailing list suppliers, I
did a little research on just our town. There are between
1200 and 1450 businesses on these mailing lists. That’s
encouraging, because it’s not even the largest town in our
area. So the potential is definitely there.
That’s my next step(s). I will track what my results are
and tell you about them.

2. A Unique Marketing Tool

As you just read above, I am putting together a directory
site and I am using a free link management script. I am
sure many of you have heard of this before, but for those
of you that haven’t:
The script is called Link Management Assistant and is put
out by Duncan Carver. It’s one of the most powerful link
management scripts out there. And he GIVES it away. You

10 Rarely Used Bonuses That Can Triple Sales

I think coming up with decent bonuses to give away with
your product or ezine is getting tougher to find. Here’s
a list of a few I have used - and some I PLAN to use:
1. Announcement Alerts - Give customers e-mail
alerts about critical information or product releases
before your non customers find out about it..
2. Discounts - Allow your customers to get lower
prices on your products and other related products
other businesses sell.
3. Expert Call Ins - Set up a date and time when
your customers can call up and talk directly with
experts that are related to your industry.
4. Private Invitations - Give your customers private
invitations to customer events that non customers
cannot attend.
5. Online Rolodex - Compile a list of web sites or
online contacts that are related to the product. You
could publish it on CD-ROM or on the web.
6. Archived Information - Bundle together some
older information that’s no longer available. It could
be e-zine back issues, articles, transcripts, etc.
7. Mentor Program - Give your customers unlimited
consulting with their purchase. Allow them to
contact you by e-mail, phone, fax, in person, etc.
8. Audio/Video E-zine - Give customers an upgraded
version of your e-zine in online audio or video format.
Non-paying customers could only get it in e-mail.
9. Freebie Announce Board - Offer your customers
a message board were they can announce freebies
they offer from their web site.
10. Barter Discussion List - Offer your customers
the option of joining a barter email discussion list.
They can barter goods and services with others.
