Let’s see - what of my week . . .

Well, I have kicked off yet ANOTHER project (well, two actually). My hosting partner and I joined forces with a few others in hopes of creating a killer membership site. What kind of membership site? I can’t say yet. But I will.

The other is sort of a side project. I can actually show you this one:

Now, the front page is NOT yet complete, but you will get the idea. I am giving away blogs. Yup - free (like blogger.com).

Now, this on the heels of my last posting about taking on too many projects, right? Well, this one was easy, so it took no time at all. I want to build it into a traffic rich site for Adsense purposes.

And speaking of Adsense, I have had a site up for a few months for the purpose of creating an Adsense revenue stream. See the site here: Motorcycle Stuff. When I first put it up (actually, last year), there wasn’t much traffic to speak of and NO revenue at all.

I made some changes about two months ago based on Joel Comm’s ebook - mostly about the placement and color of the ad blocks. I also added RSS feeds and a directory. My traffic started to build and suddenly, I was starting to make some small change - roughly $1.00 per day average.

Now, with the site generating about 150 to 200 UNIQUE hits per day (about 1800 hits), I made MORE changes based on Paul Short’s ebook. THIS was mostly a template change with slightly different ad block placements. This was two weeks ago (maybe less actually). NOW I am averaging between $3.00 and $5.00 per day.

I think that’s significant. Enough so that I will be creating MORE of these SIMPLE sites in more niches.

Now, for those interested - here is my template that I am using. BEAR IN MIND that the Adsense codes that are in there are for MY account, so you will need to change them. I left them so you can see where they go.

Also, obviously, change the text to your own and don’t forget the meta tags, descriptions, etc.
